The moderately difficult, three-mile journey offers intriguing views of Lake Michigan, along with meadows filled with wildflowers. Impressively, this short trail also gives hikers sights of rolling sand dunes and birch-filled forest.
• Genesee Valley Trail: This wonderful trail will take you from Linden Road to Chevy Commons near downtown Flint, Michigan. The 4.5 mile trail cuddles an abandoned railway line, offering rustic sights paired with Michigan fall colors. Also, Genesee Valley Trail is among the easiest to hike, since its a smooth paved trail that lends itself to less strenuous strolling.
• Waterloo-Pinckney Trail: This challenging, 35-mile trail is best done over a couple of days. Waterloo-Pinckney Trail offers glacial features, several forest types, and tops out at about 1,128 feet on Sackrider Hill.
